I strongly believe the voices of autistic people need to be included in research, policy and social planning decisions that directly impact them. As Iv'e said previously I also think those who are unable to advocate for themselves due to the disabling effects of ASC need representation too. Whether by parents, or others. But essentially everyone benefits from the extinguishment of stereotypes that keep autistic people from the fullest community participation they are capable of.
