The Wonderful Carly.

In the interest of gender balance I want to feature some girls on the spectrum. Many of you will be familiar with Carly and her incredible 'coming out' at age 11. Non verbal and diagnosed as severely Autistic, no one could have imagined what level of comprehension and intellect lay trapped by an inability to communicate.   1. Wow! I love this series you're doing. It just goes to show you what an utterly poor Theory of Mind so many non-autistic people have about autistics.

  2. Thanks Rachel, I have been blown away by so many Autism related clips and articles recently and so wanted to showcase the obvious brilliance that can come with an ASD. I know for many parents these can be challenging to watch because they feel their child won't be one these remarkable individuals, but Carly, for me is the perfect example of why we can't know that for sure. the Jabberers movie you recently spoke of on your blog is another great exmample.
